Breastfeeding Essentials Class

So you want to breastfeed? Great! Now that you've made this decision, you probably have a lot of questions. There is a lot of information out there about breastfeeding, but not a lot of CONSISTENT information. This class is an interactive environment where you can ask your questions and learn the basic skills you will need to breastfeed, pump, and bottle feed - or any combination of these that works for you!

This class will cover:

  • The basics of how your body makes milk and how to get the process started

  • How to get breastfeeding or pumping off to a great start right away

  • What to expect in the first few days and weeks in regards to feeding

  • Latch and positioning techniques

  • How to know if baby is getting enough milk

  • How to manage engorgement and avoid mastitis

  • Basic pumping practices and routines

  • Bottle feeding techniques and milk storage information

Partners are highly encouraged to attend - one ticket is good for both you and one support person!

Pumping Pro Class

Most people that breastfeed plan to express breast milk at some point in their breastfeeding journey. This class is perfect for anyone wanting to learn more about pumping, whether you plan to exclusive pump, pump when you go back to work, or just have some milk set aside for when you are not with baby.

This class will cover:

  • Different types of breast pumps

  • The parts of a breast pump

  • Proper flange sizing

  • How to clean your pump

  • Building and maintaining milk supply when using a pump

  • Different gadgets available for pumping

  • How to store your expressed milk

  • Bottle feeding tips

  • Tips for pumping at work or on the go

Childbirth Education Class

Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to knowing your options. Childbirth education is essential in increasing your confidence when it comes to your options in pregnancy and childbirth. This class will provide all of the information you need about pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.

This class will cover:

  • Preparing for labor

  • Stages of labor

  • Medical interventions

  • Preparing for the unexpected

  • Decision making in pregnancy and childbirth

  • Creating a list of birth preferences

  • Comfort strategies and positions for labor

  • Postpartum expectations

  • Newborn care

  • Infant feeding basics overview

This day long class is jam-packed with information but is still interactive and fun! Lunch is provided - costs includes birthing person and one support person.

This class is perfect for those who have given birth before or someone who has taken a complete course, but wants a little more information.

We will cover:

  • Stages of labor

  • Medical interventions

  • Preparing for the unexpected

  • Decision making in pregnancy and childbirth

  • Creating a list of birth preferences

  • Comfort strategies and positions for labor

This online class is great for those with little ones at home, who still want a chance to focus on this pregnancy! Prior to class, I will request some information about your previous pregnancies and any questions you want answered.

Flange Fitting & Mini Consult Clinic

Are you a pumping mama or plan to pump at some point in the future? Do you want to be sure that pumping is as comfortable as possible? One of the biggest causes of pump discomfort and low output is the wrong size flange. Come see me at the clinic to get sized and try out different size flanges to see what works best for you! Bring your own pump or use one the pumps that I have on hand! If time allows, we can also spend some time troubleshooting any pump related questions you might have.

Do you have a quick question about lactation that you need answered? Mini consults are typically offered virtually to answer your specific lactation related questions when a full consultation is not needed. At this clinic, time slots will be available for in-person mini consults
