I do cover a lot of specialties that are all related to pregnancy, birth, postpartum, or parenting in some way. Each service I offer comes with a different certification - and a different code of ethics. To keep you safe, establish quality care, and work within my scope of practice, I do not "double dip" with clients. For example, if you come to me for lactation support, I am not able to shift that relationship to mental health therapy. But I know a ton of amazing professionals in the birth space and if you feel you need additional support, I am happy to provide a referral!
This answer is two-fold: there is my professional philosophy and my personal philosophy.
Professionally, I think birth and breastfeeding are deeply personal things that spark a lot of opinions all over the board. My approach as a birth professional is to help you meet your personal goals. I take the time to find out what you want or help you explore your options if you aren't sure. I'm not here to judge and just because I made certain choices personally, does not mean I won't support your choices for your birth and your journey.
Personally, I tend to lean towards the more "let things happen naturally" side of birth after having four children of my own - though all four were born in a hospital setting with some medical interventions. I chose unmedicated births, but would never push this on anyone. I also chose to breastfeed all of my children, turning to exclusive pumping four times when issues came up. I also quit breastfeeding before a year with one of my children, because my mental health was suffering and I decided my goals had changed.
All of my services can be accessed in-person at my office space in Clinton, MN. This space opened in October 2024 and I am so glad to have a central location to call "home".
Most of my services are also available virtually. Therapy services must be accessed virtually by a client physically located in Minnesota. All other virtual services are available throughout the United States.
Several of my services (doula services, lactation support, and childbirth education) are available in the comfort of your own home. My prices include travel up to a 40 mile radius around Clinton, MN, but I am willing to travel further with an additional charge for mileage.
There is no set time that support has to start or stop! If you feel you need support under any of my services, reach out right away. We can make a plan for how that support works best for you. If you are here looking, it is probably a good time to reach out.
First off, yay! I'm so glad you plan to reach out.
Secondly, my "contact me" link will lead you to a short Google Form that asks for your contact information and a brief description of what you are looking for. As soon as you hit submit, the information comes straight to me. I'll get back to you within three business days.
If you are waiting on confirmation of insurance coverage, this timeframe may be a little longer - because, well...insurance.
Please do! My passion is helping mothers and their children - and that means working with you in whatever way works best. A lot of times in the early postpartum period, mother and baby are a two-for-one package. I would never want childcare or wanting to be with your baby to be a barrier to seeking services.
My office is baby friendly. I offer small baby toys, a bouncer, play space, and complementary diapers/wipes. All of my appointments are also breastfeeding and pumping friendly!
